Teachers are curious about AI. Most have not had time to test it, trust it, or connect it to their classroom. This session closes that gap. Participants work directly with the three most widely available AI platforms, ChatGPT, Claude, and Gemini, to build one complete, standards-aligned lesson plan before they leave. The skills developed here transfer directly to district-approved platforms such as Magic School. The workshop closes with an honest look at data privacy, what tools districts can actually approve, and what some districts are already building on their own infrastructure.
Mark Stevens
Mark Stevens is a Ph.D. candidate in Educational Technology at the University of Toledo, where his dissertation examines extended professional development for AI integration in K-12 education. He has published and presented on AI literacy and teacher preparation for emerging technologies, and his K-12 interests extend to augmented reality, virtual reality, and game-based learning. His professional experience includes roles as a classroom teacher, technology coordinator, and Assistant Teaching Professor.
Dr. Allison Goedde
Dr. Allison Goedde is Emeriti teaching professor from Bowling Green State University, where she leads and facilitates innovative learning experiences in the School of Counseling, Higher Education, and Leadership Foundations. With an Ed.D. in Educational Administration and Supervision, her area of focus is instructional leadership and adult education. In her 30 years of service, she leverages technology to create dynamic and engaging learning opportunities for empowering learners. Recent developments in her educational practice has inspired a modified view of the ISTE Facilitator and Practitioner standards, for leadership and educator preparation courses. Dr. Goedde presents and publishes her research and ideas on topics such as AI-Pedagogy and digital citizenship. She serves by coordinating and facilitating professional development for educators, as well as collaborating with stakeholders and partners in the field of educational technology.
