As artificial intelligence becomes more prevalent in classrooms, today’s educators must be equipped not just with AI tools—but with the judgment, ethics, and instructional practices to use them effectively. In this session, Mark Stevens, an educational technologist and Ph.D. candidate, shares a practical and transparent approach to integrating AI into teacher preparation. His "Prompt–Reflect–Empower" model invites students to use AI tools like ChatGPT in coursework, document their RISEN prompts and revisions, and reflect on how AI influenced their learning. Attendees will explore this model in action, discuss the implications for K–12 and higher education, and leave with strategies for building ethical AI literacy into their own classrooms.
